Goals: Speak It to the Universe

We all have goals. But have you ever sat down and actually wrote out your dreams? Like pen to paper, spell it out, speak it to the universe kind of action?

I’ve been elbow-deep in a book that encouraged me to do just that. But, to take it one step further, there had to be a plan to get there. There had to be real substance to what that goal looked like, how it would feel, and how it would change me to accomplish it—scary, exciting stuff.

You can’t share your wish once you’ve blown out the birthday candles, and the same rules apply here. What I will share is that what I wrote down is partly focused here—what I can offer my audience, my customers, and my clients. Mind you; it’s all part of the big picture.

In discovering all of this, sometimes you also have to slow down, refocus, and make sure you’re genuinely centering on your purpose. What is my purpose here?

We start and end each day in our home. It’s our source of comfort, relaxation, and inspiration. I’m a firm believer that not just the décor but the overall design of our home should measure up.

So how do I nudge my way into your life so that I become the best friend on call when you need help creating your dream home? You guessed it, that’s a goal, my friend.

Creating a space where you wake up feeling a sense of, “I get to live here.” That’s a goal.

Creating a space that feels and functions even better than you dreamed. That’s a goal.

It’s more than just home décor and home design services. It’s about the relationships I’m forging with my clients. It’s about being a cheerleader for my customers when they’re throwing out that old futon and putting in a new piece of furniture that matches their style and life stage.

As part of my plan to reach all of those goals, I’ve put a lot of thought and consideration into what makes sense for clients. What are common frustrations? And what are some more tangible solutions to those frustrations?

In coming to those conclusions, I broke it down into three basic things:

1. Video consultation (or in-person for my locals)—often, you just want to chat. You need to bounce ideas around, get advice, get direction, or get a greater sense of what I might be able to dream up for you. This time is yours, and you can use it however it is most helpful to you. Do you want to rearrange your living room furniture? You’re not sure how to style a bookshelf or how high to hang that picture? This is the perfect solution.

2. Color consultation—the most intimidating decision(s) and my most common quest for help I receive daily. Color can make or break a space, so let’s get it right before you start rollin’.

3. Full-service design—this one has two options. 1) Just the furnishings: this has all the pieces you need to transform your space, shopping list included. I’ll even throw in a space plan to show you exactly where to put your new rug, lamps, etc. 2) Do you have something bigger in mind? Are you renovating or maybe building a new house? Call on me to help you make the millions of decisions that can come with projects like this.

The best part of all of this is that technology allows me to work with clients across the country. We’re in a Zoom world, and I’m a Zoom girl. I’m connected to and able to create inspirational spaces for clients near and far.

I’m going to circle back (see what I did there? #iykyk) and dust off goals for just a minute more. Here’s looking at you and the goals you have floating around, pending, or on the verge of a download crash. Wherever you’re at in life, speak that dream to the universe, girl. Write it down, plan it out, and jump on the nearest train to start traveling towards that goal.
